Ski & Snowboarding Lessons for Adults and Children

Lessons are helpful to skiers of all levels. We recommend that all first-time skiers, as well as adults that want to brush up on their skills take a lesson.

Elk Mountain strongly recommends that new skiers take at least three group or private lessons.

Lift tickets may be purchased at the ski school desk when purchasing lessons.

Parent/Child Lesson Clinic

For parent/guardian and one child age 3-5. 90 minute lesson. Parent/Guardian must be at at least level 3. Lesson times based on instructor availability. Objective: The instructor's goal is to teach the parent/guardian how to work with the child confidently and creatively and safely introducing them to the joy of skiing. Lesson plan will utilize PSIA techniques.

Elk Mountain Snow Camp December 26-30, 2024

Designed for skiers age 6-12 as a Learn to ski (better) program. Students will enjoy three hours of professional ski instruction with safe and structured lesson plans to improve technique and build self-confidence. Participants will be assigned to specific groups according to their demonstrated individual levels. All levels of proficiency will be accommodated - Beginner, Green/Blue trail skiers and those who are comfortable skiing all trails. This program is a recommended prior to pursuing Junior Race Training Programs )Christmas Camp.

$300 with your own equipment
$425 with 5-day Elk ski rentals

What is the skier/family responsible for?

Full ski equipment (week-long or seasonal rental recommended). LIft ticket (single or multi-day, season pass or Big and Friendly Pass. 9:00 a.m. check-in at the Childrens Program area in the main lodge, ready to ski at 9:30 a.m. parent pickup promptly at 12:30 p.m. at the Childrens Program area in the main lodge.

Mountain Rangers Season Long Children's Program for age 6-12

Children's Program - Saturdays and Sundays January 4 - February 23, 2025 excluding holiday weekends

Begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. and ends promptly at 12:30 p.m. with warmup/restroom breaks. A late fee will be charged if parents arrive after 12:30 p.m. Availiability is on a first come first served basis; additional signups after reaching capacity is not possible. This program is a recommended first step prior to pursuing Juniior Race Training programs (Cruisers).

First-time skiers, established skiers, or snowboarders looking to learn or fine-tune their skills can do so with a lesson from a member of the Elk Mountain Ski School.

Our school is a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and utilizes the American Teaching System. With a staff of over seventy-five trained instructors, Elk has a program and the staff to meet your individual needs. Elk Mountain takes great pride in its ski school programs and lessons. Class sizes are limited to ensure a quality experience. Lessons may be sold out during busy periods.
